Canada’s first wellness rewards program launches in BC

There’s a new mobile app called Carrot Rewards.

It’s geared towards those trying to lead a healthier lifestyle by rewarding them with loyalty points through other outlets like Aeroplan, Scene and MoreRewards.

The app’s only available in BC right now, and aims to help you lead a healthier lifestyle and reduce the risk of chronic illnesses like diabetes and heart disease.

The way it works is simple: you sign up on the app and choose a loyalty program you’d like to earn points for. You’re then rewarded for completing healthy lifestyle activities like going to the gym, attending a flu clinic and something as simple as buying produce from a grocery store.

The government of Canada is investing $5-million in the project, with the government of British Columbia chipping in $2.5-million.

Carrot Rewards can be found for free on your smartphones app store. More details can be found online through the program’s website.
