Powell River moving forward with vegetation management pilot project

The City of Powell River is moving forward on a vegetation management pilot project in the Penticton Trails area.

Mayor Dave Formosa says it’s a project that grew out of the wildfire protection plan. He says Penticton Trails is the first area they’re working on that will help the city explore further forest fuel management plans throughout the region.

The report to council on the pilot project states that it will allow staff to assess the workload, time and costs required for this kind of project.
