Local High School students are learning what it’s like to be a firefighter in the Comox Valley.
The Comox Fire Department is holding its Youth Camp.
Fire Chief Gord Schreiner says it runs until Wednesday, and is something they do every 2 years.
Schreiner notes students will participate in a variety of activities, including extinguishing car fires, climbing ladders, tying ropes and knots – everything the department does on a regular basis, but on a smaller scale.
Schreiner says about 30 students are participating this year.
