Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Week

The Minister of Children and Family Development says everyone in the community has a role to play in combating child abuse.

Friday was Child Abuse Prevention Day and this week is Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Week.

Stephanie Cadieux says it’s everyone’s responsibility ensure children are safe. She notes that abuse can take many different forms: sexual, physical, emotional or the result of neglect.

She says it’s important to know the signs of abuse, like anxiety, aggression and unexplained bruises.

If you think a child is being abused or neglected, call the Helpline for Children at 310-1234.
