Fire crews are reminding those who use wood heat to keep up maintenance throughout the spring months. Courtenay Fire Chief Don Bardonnex says crews were called out to a chimney fire last night.
He notes some people tend to put off cleaning their chimneys, but it’s important to keep up with the maintenance.
Bardonnex says you should clean your chimney every 3 months and it’s important to keep it clean and maintain it during its season of use.
