Plans are moving forward on the Comox Marina Waterfront Vitalization Project.
Mayor Paul Ives says staff received two bids from different construction companies to work on the project. Both bids were over the allocated budget of $1.6 million.
Ives says staff will go with the lower bidder, Kinetic Construction, and will negotiate to reduce the price and bring it closer to the budget.
Ives says that will happen over the next 2 to 3 weeks and staff is hopeful that work on the project can begin in early May.
