Discussions are underway as to what the future has in store for the IR2 lands, on Condensory Road near Courtenay. The city and the K’omoks First Nation have signed a servicing agreement to extend city services to the area.
K’omoks Economic Development Corporation C-E-O, Melinda Knox says having the agreement was the first step and now planning is underway as to what will be happening on the land.
Knox says the First Nation has applied to the federal government for infrastructure funding to help pay for the service extension and are waiting to hear back.
