More cougar sightings in Cumberland

Another pair of cougar sightings happened around the Village of Cumberland on Monday, however none were found by conservation officers.

Conservation Officer Steve Petrovic says the first sighting occurred when a woman was walking in an alley between Maryport and Penrith avenue at around 8:20 in the morning.

He says later, around 7 that evening, another cougar was spotted in the Coal Heights area in the west end of Cumberland.

Petrovic says a couple were taking photos when a cougar passed roughly 50 meters in front of them. The conservation attended and located a cougar track, but didn’t find the cat.
