School board adopts motion for alternate instruction week

Students in School District 71 will be seeing some schedule changes starting in September.

The District Board has decided to support a motion to move to an alternate school week calendar.

Board Chair Tom Weber says the move will equal a 4.6 day school week.

Weber says this will have quite the impact on teaching staff and students.

Weber says that means teachers will not necessarily have prep time every day. That class-work prep time will come at the end of the week.
