Cumberland Girl Guides celebrating 100 years

In the village of Cumberland, Girl Guides are celebrating 100 years of rich history.

In 1916, they were known as the 1st Patriotic Cumberland Guides, and raised money for the war effort and for their uniforms.

The Guides have also held camps on Hornby Island and at Comox Lake.

Former guide leader Marianne Bell says she has fond memories of her time in the Girl Guides program.
