We’re not quite out of the woods yet when it comes to large scale forest fires, and with warm dry conditions not about to go away anytime soon, we’re not about to let our guard down. Thats the take from Marg Drysdale at the Coastal Fire Centre.

The Coastal Fire Centre recently lifted their campfire ban, with cooler overnight temperatures taking the fire danger rating down a notch…but Drysdale says overall conditions are still fairly dry out there in the Comox Valley area.

As for exactly when will the Coastal Fire Centre close up shop for the season?

Drysdale urges everybody to be cautious with their campfires, with the long range forecast calling for mainly sunny conditions along with warm temperatures, albeit with cool temperatures overnight.
