The Comox Valley Regional District has purchased some land next to the Exhibition Grounds.
The Stonehenge Farm property was recently put on the market.
General Manager of Community Services, Ian Smith says the board felt it was a good change to secure the land for possible future expansion of the exhibition grounds.
He says the next step will be updating the exhibition grounds master plan.
Smith says the update to the master plan will take around six months and will involve consultations will stakeholders.
