The BC Wildfire Services will be helping out Alberta during their massive Fort McMurray fire as much as they can. The Province of Alberta has asked BC to focus its crews on battling the wildfires burning in our province to ensure they do not cross the border into Alberta.
Chief Fire Officer Kevin Skrepneck says they will be sending some equipment to Alberta.
Skrepneck says BC crews have also agreed to continue to fight the Siphon Creek Fire, even if it moves across the border into Alberta, so Alberta crews can continue to focus on Fort McMurray.
