RCMP investigating tampering of hydrants

Three fire hydrants have been tampered with in the Comox Valley, and the RCMP continue to look into who caused the damage.

Constable Rob Gardner says the cases of mischief happened in North Courtenay – one on Veterans Memorial Parkway, another behind Costco and the third near Wentworth Road and Exeter Place.

Gardner notes the tampering of the fire hydrants is extra dangerous. Losing liters of water can be detrimental to the whole community with the possibility of a summer filled with drought-like conditions.

If you have further information about these cases, contact the Comox Valley RCMP or CrimeStoppers.
