Texada Inn damaged by fire

Fire investigators are looking for the cause of a fire at the Texada Island Inn.

The blaze broke out Wednesday afternoon.

Van Anda Fire Chief Mike Craggs says both fire departments and volunteers from the local quarries responded to help put the fire out. He says it looks as though the fire started in the laundry room area.

Craggs says the damage to the building is extensive. He notes that the restaurant and bar area will probably be a knock-down.

Craggs says they’ll be sending photos to the fire investigator, but the cause appears that it may have been electrical.
