Port Hardy fire a good reminder of dry conditions

Fire crews from Port Hardy, Port McNeill and the Coastal Fire Centre were called out to battle a blaze behind Mayors Way in Port Hardy.

The blaze broke out Wednesday evening.

Deputy Fire Chief Brent Borg says they were called out to a report of smoke behind the town-site.

Borg says crews will continue to patrol the area for the next few days, looking for hot spots.

He says it’s a good reminder of how dry it is out there and the importance of being extremely careful with all your outdoor activities.
