Courtenay Mayor promises to fix City Hall

When it comes to an efficient, timely and fair approval process for various residential and commercial projects, Courtenay City Hall is broken, and needs an urgent fix.

That message from a number of local developers citing frustrations on a slow and sometimes painful development application process.

Courtenay Mayor Larry Jangula says he agrees, major improvements are required.

Jangula says a few years back developers had this idea to help things along, and so this might be under consideration.

Jangula staff at Courtenay City Hall are working on various improvements to the development application process, with several departments teaming up on that effort.

No word on when the development approval process will ultimately be revamped at Courtenay City Hall, but Jangula confirms those efforts are now actively underway.
