New boat lift for the disabled unveiled at Comox Marina

There’s a new boat lift at the Comox Marina, and it’s specifically designed to assist disabled people.

The lift is the only one in the region, and James Stewart of the Comox Valley Accessibility Committee says it’s a huge asset to the community.

Stewart says it’s the same type of lift he used in Halifax when leading a disabled sailing program.

Individuals who want to use it must have an able-bodied person help them set it up. Once set up, boaters can safely go on-board the craft and enjoy the water.
