The 407 Squadron at 19 Wing Comox is marking its 75th anniversary.
The squadron was formed in 1941 and used in bombing and sub-hunting missions during World War 2.
Former Base Commander and member of 407, Jim Benninger, says the mission profile of the squadron has evolved over the years to include maritime and overland surveillance.
Benninger says a lot has changed in term of technology, but the underlying mission of surveillance remains the same.
Benninger says many former members of 407 will be in town this weekend to mark the anniversary.
