North Island Traffic Services keeping an eye on the roads

North Island Traffic Services is reminding drivers that they will be out and about in communities throughout the region this summer.

Members recently conducted an enforcement blitz in Powell River.

Sergeant Craig Blanchard says they’ll be out anywhere from South of Courtenay to Port Hardy and over on the Sunshine Coast and Powell River. He says they’ll be looking for anything that jeopardizes the safety of road users – including distracted driving, seat-belt use and aggressive driving.

Blanchard says they’ll also be looking for other issues like impaired driving, and other traffic violations.
