National Aboriginal Day

Today is National Aboriginal Day, and celebrations are taking place in the Comox Valley.

Charlene Everson with the K’omoks First Nation says there are plenty of activities taking place at the Big House, including traditional games and dances. The theme for this year’s event is health and well-being.

She says the entire community is welcome to attend the celebrations at the Big House. There will also be vendors on hand.

Everson says the events start at 2:00 PM and run until 8:00 PM at the Big House. This year is also the 20th anniversary of National Aboriginal Day.
