The BC Conservation Officer Service is emphasizing the importance of this after an incident in the Squamish Valley – where a grizzly bear was able to access garbage left behind by campers.
COS Deputy Chief Chris Doyle says this event is a good reminder for campers to be as safe as possible.
Doyle says it’s important to pack your garbage out of your campsite before you leave. If you ever have a concern about wildlife, contact the BC Conservation Officer Service.
