Comox Fire offering new wildfire protection kits to residents

The Comox Fire Department is advising residents of newly-available kits to help keep your home safe from wildfires. Fire Chief Gord Schreiner says wildfires are becoming a growing problem in BC and interface fires can spread quickly.

He says the sprinkler kits are a low-pressure system that you can turn on if a wildfire is in the area.

Schreiner says the fire department can also hook up to the kits to help keep fires from spreading.

The kits are available for purchase through the fire hall.
