Rules around trailers and RVs on the roads

As summer road-trip season arrives, ICBC is reminding drivers to make sure you know the rules and regulations when it comes to trailers and RVs.

Spokesperson Caroline Robinson says it’s important to do your research before you hit the road. She says you could possibly need a different type of insurance or driver’s license with a recreational vehicle.

She reminds drivers that larger vehicles like RVs move slower and aren’t as maneuverable as smaller vehicles.

RCMP will also be ramping up inspections of trailers to ensure they are being towed safely and according to the rules.
