Residents from across the region are invited to Simms and Lewis Parks in Courtenay today for Canada Day celebrations.
Edwin Grieve with the Canada Day committee says everything gets underway with the road race down 5th at 9:30 AM. He reminds drivers that there will be road closures throughout the day in the 5th street bridge area.
Grieve says another thing to note for this morning is the parade will be starting half an hour earlier than in previous years – it will begin at 10 AM.
