ICBC launches summer safe driving campaign

ICBC has launched its summer impaired educational campaign.

Spokesperson Caroline Robinson says it’s similar to the campaign that is run around Christmas time about making sure you plan ahead if you will be consuming alcohol.

Robinson says RCMP will be out doing extra enforcement. She notes that the main message is to plan a safe way home if you’re going to be drinking. She says the month of July marks an increase in festivities that tend to involve alcohol.

Robinson notes that impaired driving continues to be the leading cause of criminal death in Canada.
