Alison Azer says husband accused of abducting children detained in Iran

The mother of four Comox Valley children allegedly abducted by their father and taken overseas says her ex-husband has been arrested and released on bail in Iran.

Alison Azer has released a statement with an update on the case.

Azer says Saren Azer was arrested by Iranian authorities on June 12th.

She says he is currently out on bail with mobility restrictions and will appear before Iranian courts again in the coming weeks.

Azer also says the RCMP wanted to communicate with Interpol Iran, but were blocked by senior Canadian government officials.

Azer is again calling on the government to take steps to get the children back to Canada.
