North Island College is launching a new program to engage pre-teens in robotics.

The college is offering robotics camps in each of its communities this summer.

Spokesperson Naomi Tabata says it’s the first time the college has received funding to run a camp for kids. Tabata says the camps are a great way for kids to increase their digital literacy by becoming familiar with what exactly robotics are all about.

The college received a grant from the Canadian Internet Registration Authority to run the camps.
