Safely disposing your propane tanks

Campers and people with propane stoves are being reminded to properly dispose of empty tanks.

Patrick Donaghy with the Regional District of Mount Waddington says when you use a propane tank, there is always residual propane in the tank.

He says there have been a few scary cases where people have tried to put the tanks into the recycling or garbage.

Donaghy says it’s important to check with local regulators to make sure you’re disposing of the tanks properly to avoid injury to staff or damage to infrastructure.
