Improving emergency response routes

The Comox Valley Emergency Program is looking to improve emergency response routes in the region.

The RD has put out a Request for Quotations for some work to connect Lory and Hamm roads.

Emergency Coordinator Howie Siemens says emergency crews had expressed concerns about issues with accessing Macaulay road, if the road is blocked in an emergency.

Siemens says they are currently in the process of evaluating emergency access to areas around the region, especially those which may have only one way in and out.
