Fire crews battle barn blaze

Courtenay and Oyster River fire crews banded together last night and into this morning to battle a barn fire.

The incident happened on Coleman Road, just north of Courtenay.

Deputy Chief with the Courtenay Fire Department, Kurt McDonald, says there were no human-injuries.

McDonald notes they were in an area with no fire hydrants, which makes the fight a little more difficult.

McDonald says there was a legal grow-up in the building, but crews are not sure if that had anything to do with the blaze breaking out.
