Local governments in the region are following the lead of the Coastal Fire Centre and bringing in campfire bans.
The Coastal Fire Centre ban came into effect as of noon Wednesday.
Oyster River Deputy Chief Chris Murray says a ban has also been brought in in Oyster River.
The City of Campbell River has also brought in a ban on beach fires.
