Howie Meeker inducted into BC Special Olympics Hall of Fame

Hockey legend Howie Meeker is being inducted into the BC Special Olympics Hall of Fame.

Meeker is being recognized for his more than 4 decades of support for the organization. Meeker says it’s been an honour to work with the organization and the athletes.

Meeker says he hopes that the Special Olympics organization get more exposure in the future, and has an easier time obtaining funding for its programs.

Meeker will be given the induction plaque at the Campbell River Howie Meeker Golf Classic this afternoon (Saturday, August 20th).
