Gibsons man sets up Ferry petition

A petition has been launched calling for priority service for residents in ferry-dependent communities.

Gibsons resident Ryan Medd started the petition. He says those residents should be given priority vehicle boarding and he wants to bring awareness to this issue.

He says the ferry itself is an essential service and he believes residents are not receiving fair access to the ferries.

Medd says waiting for a boat can be very frustrating, and was one of the factors that led him to start the petition.

Medd put up his online petition on August 22nd and the petition already has more than 600 supporters. The petition can be viewed and signed at change.org.
