RCMP reminding drivers to use caution as kids return to school

Drivers are being reminded to use extra caution today. It’s the first day of school.

RCMP Constable Rob Gardner says kids are excited to head back to school and may not be watching for cars. He suggests parents to travel with their kids for the first couple of days to ensure they understand the rules of the road and can recognize any hazards they may encounter on their way to school.

Gardner says drivers also need to remember that school zones are back in effect and to follow the rules when it comes to school buses.
