Comox Valley system on Stage 3 water restrictions

The Comox Valley water system is on Stage 3 water restrictions this week.

BC Hydro is doing maintenance on the Puntledge River Generating Station, including cleaning the fish screens.

Manager of Water Services with the Comox Valley Regional District, Mike Herschmiller says while that maintenance is going on, water will be drawn through the stand-by pumping station.

Herschmiller says this generally happens 2 to 3 times a year, and it’s in relation to when crews clean the fish screens during fish runs.

The restrictions will be in place until Friday, September 16th.
