September is Disability Employment Month for the province.
Ministry of Social Development Parliamentary Secretary Darryl Tlecas says the province is working with communities in making it easier for people with disabilities to find work.
Tlecas says the goal of the awareness month is to encourage employers to think more inclusively and to recognize how much those with disabilities can bring to the workplace.
The province has set a goal of making BC the most progressive place for people with disabilities in Canada by 2024.
