The Province is providing $60,000 towards a program aimed at helping high-risk children.

The Pathways to Healing Partnership is a pilot project that helps children and families that are in need of care after suffering intensive traumatic experiences.

Spokesperson Jan Ference with the Comox Valley Child Development Association says the healing comes from a neurological standpoint.

Ference says there’s nothing else like this in the province.

She notes the Ministry of Children and Family Development has also been a huge help. Ference says they are currently doing work in the Comox Valley, Port Hardy, Alert Bay and Campbell River.
