Two grizzlies that appeared on Cormorant Island this past weekend have been successfully captured by the Conservation Service. It’s the first time that grizzlies have island-hopped to the area.
Justin Beadle with the Village of Alert Bay says conservation will now be making plans to relocate the animals. He says residents were co-operative and very supportive of the efforts put in by the local RCMP and the BC Conservation Service.
Beadle says residents will be keeping an eye out for grizzlies in the future.
