Active start to the fall season for BC conservation officers

The BC Conservation Officer Service had a busy start to the fall this year.

Deputy Chief Chris Doyle provided a provincial overview of human-wildlife conflicts from this season so far, and he says since September 1st, over 800 environmental violations have been reported, and multiple bears were relocated.

Doyle says this is a high number, but it is similar to previous years.

Doyle says the mature grizzly bear that was recently found in the Sechelt area was captured and relocated by helicopter to his home range. He adds the bear was suitable for relocation because it showed no aggression towards humans.
