A local group is helping out a Syrian refugee family.
The Safehaven Refugee Sponsorship Group held a fundraiser this weekend.
Spokesperson Gary Stevenson says the family comprises of a widowed mother with 4 children and her 2 parents. Stevenson says the family is living in a small garage in Turkey.
Stevenson says Safehaven working on other projects to help the family, including future public meetings to get more of the community involved.
