Fireworks now allowed to be sold in the region

The Comox Valley Regional District is reminding residents in the rural areas to obey the rules when it comes to fireworks.

Fireworks are allowed to be sold, starting Monday, October 24th through November 1st.

Manager of Bylaws and Special Investigations, Derald Lewis, says if you’re going to be setting off fireworks, you need a permit, which can be picked up at the CVRD office.

Lewis says if you are planning to set off fireworks, it’s a good idea to let your neighbours know so they can make sure their pets are indoors.
