Local emergency responders are working on a project to help out fire fighters in Mexico.
Oyster River firefighters Chris Hounsell, Ryan Thorburn, and Patrick Lewis are raising funds and collecting donations to take down to help outfit a fire department in Puerto Vallarta.
Hounsell says on a visit to bring an ambulance to Mexico last year, they stopped at Puerto Vallarta and were shocked to see how little equipment crews had to work with.
Hounsell says the team has joined forces with Firefighters Crossing Boarders to arrange for firefighting gear to take down.
The team has set up a Go-Fund-Me page to raise money to help with the trip to deliver the ambulance. The trio will leave on December 1st.
