Handbags for Hope

A woman in the Comox Valley has started a campaign to help out fellow residents.

Jane Wood has teamed up with the Comox Valley Transition Society for the Handbags for Hope campaign, which aims to help women in need this holiday season.

Wood says the campaign will culminate with a luncheon on December 13th. Handbags are filled with essentials and treats for women.

Wood says the idea was inspired by a campaign she saw in her home country of Australia.

The donation drive goes until December 10th and items can be dropped off at the Transition Society’s England Avenue office in Courtenay.
