Everybody Deserves a Smile

A Comox Valley-based group continues to work hard to provide for the homeless on and off the Island.

Everybody Deserves a Smile spokesperson Chantal Stefan says students prepare care-packages for people living on the streets. She says some of the items delivered include toques, mitts, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and sugar cookies.

She says the idea for the campaign came to her 13 years ago. The goal this year is to deliver 800 care-packages. Stefan says the project runs across the Island and even spreads to the mainland and in Red Deer, Alberta.

Stefan notes the main drop-off location is Puntledge Park Elementary in Courtenay. Donations can be dropped off until December 5th and more info can be found at edas.ca.
