The Village of Cumberland has developed a watershed management plan.
Mayor Leslie Baird says the plan is a requirement from the Ministry of Environment and is being done in preparation for the upgrades to the village water system.
She says they’re looking at what can be hazardous to their plan, e.g. earthquakes and other phenomena and concerns you wouldn’t normally think of.
Baird says the plan puts to paper a lot of the concerns and issues that had been previously raised, which is important in the planning process.
