Island Health is working on improving supports and services for victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
Regional Director for Trauma Care Anna Hall says the Forensic Nurse Examiner Program is available in every emergency department across the island.
She says the program has specially trained registered nurses to help provide support and connect victims with services.
Hall notes that the crisis line is also available for people to call for help.
