Council approves Complete Streets design option

Work is moving forward on the city of Courtenay’s Complete Streets Pilot Project.

Director of Engineering Services Lesley Hatch says council has approved one of the design options provided by Urban Systems.

Hatch says it will see a separated raised cycle track adjacent to the sidewalk.

She says the rest of the project will include alternating parking and rain-gardens as well as parking between Fitzgerald and Harmston.

Hatch says the next step is the detailed design process going into the new year.
