It’s the time of year where people across the country put up their holiday decorations.
Powell River’s Fire Chief Terry Peters says it’s very important to be as safe as possible to avoid any accidents while setting up your home.
Peters is reminding people to not have too many items plugged into one outlet and says this is also a good time of year to check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Peters notes that without a plan, you could fall victim to serious injury. He says it’s important to have an emergency preparedness kit and fire safety plan.
