RCMP reminding drivers of road safety

Mounties are reminding drivers to use extra caution with the winter weather hitting the region.

Constable Rob Gardner says it’s important to make sure all your front windows are clear before you hit the road. Gardner says there is a fine if you can’t see out your front and side windows.

Gardner says you should make sure your tires are in good shape and that you have winter-rated tires if you’re heading out on the highway. Gardner says it’s also a good idea to make sure your car is in good mechanical shape, especially if you’re heading out on a longer road trip.
